Industry-wide change and innovation within the UK legal sector
Increasing competition from smaller law firms, and an expansion into the legal sector from accountancy firms, sparked an urgent need to innovate within the UK legal sector. A large-scale project, led by Dr Allanah Johnston, sought to identify the risks of not changing, and formulate and embed an industry-wide change strategy. Working at the intersection of government, organisations and policy, the strategy focused on developing and nurturing innovative thinking among a specific group of larger law firms. The outcome was greater client retention and an increase in new clients.
